An exciting two-hour guided walking tour of Dubrovnik’s medieval walls, led by a local guide, offers a personal experience of avoiding crowds and heat. The tour includes stops to learn about medieval warfare, walls, and the city’s history, with a maximum capacity of eight guests.
Do you want to walk the walls of Dubrovnik with a local guide in a small group of like-minded travelers? Look no further! We have a two-hour guided walking tour that takes you around the medieval walls, led by a Dubrovnik-born professional tour guide who will share their reflections and stories from the past.
Our walking tour of the city walls is perfect if you want to avoid the crowds and heat, as we start in the early morning. Please meet your guide and fellow travelers at our meeting point and prepare for a fun and informative two hours! The tour begins at the eastern Ploče gate, which is ideal for avoiding the stairs and crowds at the main entrance.
With our small-group tour, there will never be more than eight guests, which means you’ll have a more personal experience with your guide and fellow travelers. During the walk, you’ll learn about medieval warfare, the construction of the walls, and how they protected Dubrovnik from Venetians and Ottoman Turks.
We’ll make about a dozen stops along the way, where you’ll hear about the city’s history and admire the stunning views of the red rooftops and the Adriatic Sea. Our walking tour of the walls is interactive and engaging, designed to leave you with a greater understanding of Dubrovnik’s rich history.
Don’t walk the walls alone or be part of a massive group. Instead, join us for a memorable and high-quality experience. Remember, our city walls tour’s maximum capacity is just eight guests, so book now to secure your spot!
When booking the tour you can choose to pay upfront by card or to reserve now and pay later by cash on the day of the tour. Whichever payment option you choose your spot on the tour is guaranteed!
Yes, there is! This year we’ve decided to introduce the hybrid combo tour which is one part guided walking tour and one part do-your-own thing! This means that you will walk the northern half of the walls with a guide in a small group and then discover the southern half on your own, at your own pace.
We’ve been carefully listening to our guests’ feedback and pain points and we’re now pleased to offer a unique experience that combines all the benefits of a guided walking tour with free exploration. After the guided tour is over, you can stay on the walls until closing time, have a drink in one of the bars, enjoy the sunset, and take as many photos as you want!
The afternoon tour is different than our regular, full tour of the walls that goes in the morning. The guided walk takes around 75 minutes and covers only one-half of the walls, the northern stretch. The afternoon option is available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and departs two hours before the city walls’ closing time. The tour costs 18 Euros per person – book your spot now!
Meet your guide at the square in front of fort Revelin, overlooking the old harbour, just inside Ploče gate, the eastern entrance to the Old town. The guide will be waiting in the corner of the square, by the cannon, holding a red and white flag. Here’s the Google Maps link to our meeting point.
The price of the tour (both regular and full tour in the morning as well as the short afternoon option) does NOT include the ticket for the city walls. You can buy it at the entrance to the walls and pay by cash or card – our guide will show you! When purchased at the entrance in the period from January 1 to February 28, 2025, and from November 1 to December 31, 2025, the single adult ticket costs 15 Euros. For the rest of the year, from March 1 to October 31, 2025, the single ticket for the walls costs 40 Euros per person.
Alternatively, we recommend getting the Dubrovnik Pass – it includes entry to the city walls so you can get in for free, making it the only real skip-the-line ticket! It also includes all the city museums and a 24-hour bus ticket for local public transport. Travel hassle-free, buy your Dubrovnik Pass online, and save time and money!
